2012-12-07

Welcome to the 2013 2K2's Maplesoft Hawks Black Spring Hockey Team!!!

Welcome to the 2002 Maplesoft Hawks Black Spring Hockey Team!!!

Dear Parents and Players,

My name is Jamie Bertrand and I am looking forward to working with the Maplesoft 2002 AAA team this season. I want to take this opportunity to provide information about the upcoming season.

This is our groups 3rd year icing a spring hockey team and our first under the Maplesoft logo!!!  Last year the kids had a memorable season winning a championship in Niagara Falls and making it to 3 finals.  This year we will be looking to add a 3rd line to the team.

The primary goal is to develop each individual as a hockey player, always in the spirit of fair play, team effort, and sportsmanship, and for the fun/love of the game.

We will also focus on:

Building a highly competitive team that is capable of competing and winning in the Spring AAA environment.

Continuously improving each player’s hockey skills and conditioning as well as introducing body contact.

Teaching the boys/girls to enjoy the game for the sport, the competition and respect.

Every player is expected to come to practice with a positive attitude and an enthusiastic approach to learning.  Skills are developed and games are won by hard work at practice.
Players are expected, at all times, to respect themselves, their teammates, their coaches, their parents, their opponents, and the referees.

“Players will have the puck on their stick for an average of 8 seconds per game. Players will take an average of 1 - 2 shots per game. 99% of the feedback coaches give players is when they have the puck. Ironically, players only have the puck on their stick for 0.2% of the game. One efficient practice will give a player more skill development than 11 games collectively.”                                                            ~ Hockey Canada

Cost: $500 dollars includes 5 tournaments +10-15 hours of practice time.
